An open letter to the universe
Return to Sangha SpaceFor a long time you were a great mystery to me.
It was you and me and we were eternally separate.
I tried to understand you, all the various parts.
I thought if my knowledge was high enough
Then I would be with you and not apart from you.
My, how I suffered from thinking this way!
I saw you as aggressive, confusing, and irrational.
But those attributes were not of you and were rather of me.
That was how my mind saw things.
The greatest gift I have ever received
was the boon that I am not my thoughts.
That made you more open, warm, and understandable.
The me that was separate from you started to disappear.
The weakening of my boundaries allowed me to make contact,
Open, present, raw contact with what was around me.
I started to realize that ultimately I am you.
